CAMPUS SAFETY
The Campus Safety Department provides professional public safety services and maintains a continuous 24-hour presence to support the safety and well-being of the Hilbert College community. The department is staffed by uniformed Campus Safety Officers comprised of experienced off-duty and retired law enforcement professionals who bring extensive training and public safety expertise to the campus environment. Campus Safety Officers conduct routine patrols, respond to emergencies and service calls, support crime prevention and community awareness initiatives, assist with traffic and parking management, enforce College policies and applicable laws, and provide safety services tailored to the unique needs of a residential higher education setting. Through proactive engagement, visibility, preparedness, and collaboration with students, faculty, staff, and local emergency partners, the Campus Safety Department is committed to fostering an environment that promotes personal safety, supports student success, and encourages a secure atmosphere in which all members of the Hilbert College community can live, learn, and work.
CRIME STATISTICS
Campus Crime statistics are available on the Hilbert College website.
The Hilbert College Campus Safety Department will provide, upon request, all campus crime statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education. This information is provided to all students annually, and is available in the Campus Safety Office. You may request this information and the daily crime log for the last 90 day period by calling 716-649-7900.

EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENTS
When classes and other college activities have to be canceled because of severe weather conditions, an announcement is made on the following AM/FM radio stations:

A notice will also be posted on the college website and sent through Omnialert emergency texting system. All Hilbert College community members are expected to register for Omnialert to receive the most accurate information about college closures and emergencies. Individuals can register at https://hilbert.omnilert.net/subscriber.php .
Because colleges do not transport students, they remain open when school districts close. It then becomes a personal decision to attend classes if the College remains open under conditions you consider too hazardous for travel. There are also occasions when only day or evening classes may be cancelled when the other is not.
